Overview

ODLC-45A-500 is the model of this series: rated current 500mA, rated power 45W, typical efficiency 85%.

ODLC-45 series is a 45W LED AC/DC driver featuring the constant current mode output with flicker free design.ODLC-45 operates from 90~295VAC and offers models with different rated current ranging between 350mA and 1400mA. Thanks to the efficiency up to 86%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -20℃~+85℃ case temperature under free convection. The design of plastic housing and IP67 ingress protection level allows this series to fit indoor wet applications. ODLC-45 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for lighting system.

Test conditions and notes10

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
3. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
4. Length of set up time is measured at cold first start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
5. Aux. 12V will be damaged with short circuit; It will not be available when output voltage is not in constant current region or output no load condition.
6. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again.
7. The DALI version driver does not support the bit 1: Lamp failure in the Command 144 Query status of the DALI standard.
8. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).

Can I use the ODLC-45A-500 for a 500mA LED downlight system?

Yes, if the downlight uses a constant current LED load rated at 500mA. The LED forward voltage must stay within the 54-90V constant current range, and the total load must remain within 45W.

Is the ODLC-45A-500 a good fit for a small LED array with a higher forward-voltage string?

It is intended for constant current LED arrays that run at 500mA and need a relatively high output voltage range. With 54-90V available and a 45W rating, it fits longer-series LED arrays better than lower-voltage 45A models.

Can this model be used with signage light engines?

Yes, but only when the signage light engine is a constant current type rated for 500mA. It should not be treated like a constant voltage supply, because this model regulates current and operates over a 54-90V constant current range.

How do I size LED loads for the ODLC-45A-500?

The driver provides 500mA constant current with a 54-90V output range, so the LED load has to be selected by total forward voltage, not by a preset LED quantity. The number of LEDs depends on each LED forward voltage, and the load must stay within 45W.

What are the main differences between the ODLC-45A-500 and the other ODLC-45A versions?
