HLG-40H-24 is the 24V output model of this series: rated current 1.67A, rated power 40.08W, typical efficiency 88%.

HLG-40H series is a 40W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-40H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 89.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40 ~ +80 case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-40H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Can I use the HLG-40H-24 to power 24V LED strip lighting outdoors?

Yes. The HLG-40H-24 outputs 24V at up to 1.67A (40W) and carries an IP67 waterproof rating, making it a reliable choice for outdoor 24V LED strip projects exposed to rain, snow, or dust. The metal housing and -40°C to +80°C case temperature (Tcase) working range add durability in harsh conditions.

Is the HLG-40H-24 suitable for a small 24V LED under-cabinet lighting setup?

It works well for compact 24V under-cabinet installations where total LED load stays within 40W. The HLG-40H-24 provides a fixed 24V output (constant-current region 14.4-24V), delivering consistent brightness. Can the HLG-40H-24 power a short run of 24V LED neon flex for signage?

Yes, provided the neon flex draws 40W or less in total. Many 24V LED neon flex products consume 10-15W per meter, so the HLG-40H-24 could support roughly 2.5 to 4 meters depending on the flex's power rating. Check your specific product's rated power per meter to confirm.

How many meters of 24V LED strip can the HLG-40H-24 support?

That depends on the strip's rated power per meter. The HLG-40H-24 provides 40W at 24V. For example, if your strip draws 14.4W per meter, you could run approximately 2.7 meters (40W / 14.4W per meter = 2.77m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 40W.

Can the HLG-40H-24 be installed in an outdoor location with direct rain exposure?

Yes. The IP67 waterproof rating means the HLG-40H-24 is dust-tight and can handle temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter deep. Direct rain and sprinkler overspray are within its design tolerance, though it is not intended for prolonged submersion. The sealed metal case prevents moisture from reaching the electronics.

What are the differences between the HLG-40H-24 and HLG-40H-24A?

Both deliver 40W at 24V and 1.67A. The base HLG-40H-24 has fixed output and an IP67 waterproof rating.
