Overview

ELG-100-C700 is the model of this series: rated current 700mA, typical efficiency 91%.

ELG-100-C series is a 100W LED AC/DC driver featuring the constant current mode and high voltage output. ELG-100-C operates from 100~360VAC and offers models with different rated current ranging between 350mA and 1400mA. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 92%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃~+90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. ELG-100-C is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes11

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE". For DA-Type, Constant Current region is 60%~100% of maximum voltage under rated power delivery.
3. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
4. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
5. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can I use the ELG-100-C700 to drive LED downlights in a commercial office fit-out?

Yes. The ELG-100-C700 is a constant current driver rated at 700mA with a CC output voltage range of 71–143V, which covers many multi-LED downlight modules designed for series operation. At 100.1W it provides enough power for a single high-wattage luminaire or a compact array of lower-wattage LED downlights whose combined forward voltage falls within the operating window.

Is this driver appropriate for LED channel-letter or illuminated signage applications?

Yes. The 71–143V constant current range accommodates medium-to-long series strings of LED signage modules operating at 700mA. The IP67 rating means the driver can be housed in an outdoor signage cabinet exposed to rain, and the -40°C to +90°C case temperature (Tcase) rating covers most outdoor installation conditions.

Can the ELG-100-C700 be used in a wet or outdoor environment without an additional enclosure?

For example, LEDs with higher forward voltages will result in fewer devices per string compared to those with lower forward voltages.

What is the difference between the ELG-100-C700 and the ELG-100-C500DA?

The ELG-100-C700 delivers 700mA at a CC range of 71–143V with no built-in dimming, while the ELG-100-C500DA outputs 500mA at a CC range of 120–200V (60–100% of maximum voltage for the DA-Type) and includes DALI dimming. Both are IP67 rated and rated near 100W. Select based on whether your LED load requires 700mA or 500mA drive current and whether DALI control integration is needed.

Does the ELG-100-C700 operate as a constant current or constant voltage driver?

The ELG-100-C700 operates exclusively in constant current mode, maintaining a fixed 700mA output regardless of load voltage variations within the 71–143V range. This is distinct from constant voltage drivers and is required for LED loads that must be current-regulated rather than voltage-regulated.
