Test conditions and notes12
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
- 5. Derating may be needed under low input voltages. Please check the static characteristics for more details.
- 6. A type only.
- 7. Length of set up time is measured at cold first start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 8. The power supply is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can I use the HLN-40H-54A for LED signage modules that need constant current?
Yes, if the LED load operates within the 32.4-54V constant-current region and up to 0.75A. This model is rated 40.5W at 54V, and signage is a typical application. It has a constant voltage + constant current characteristic, so it can also supply 54V constant-voltage loads.
Is the HLN-40H-54A suitable for a 54V linear lighting fixture?
It can be suitable for a 54V linear fixture, either driven directly in constant-current mode within the 32.4-54V region or supplied at 54V in constant-voltage mode, at up to 0.75A. The driver delivers up to 40.5W, so the fixture load needs to stay within that rating. Check the fixture's electrical rating before matching it to this driver.
Can this driver power a high-voltage LED strip run?
Yes, a 54V strip can be run: the driver works in constant-voltage mode at 54V (adjustable 49-58V) or in constant-current mode within 32.4-54V, at up to 0.75A. For length, use the power limit: 40.5W divided by your strip's rated watts per meter equals the maximum estimated run length. Check your strip rated power per meter before sizing.
Is the HLN-40H-54A a good fit for outdoor sign lighting?
It is suited to locations where IP64 protection is appropriate, because the case is rated IP64 and the operating temperature range is -40°C to +50°C. That means it is intended for dusty or splash-prone environments rather than full water immersion. Match the enclosure and site conditions to an IP64 product.
Can I use this for architectural accent lighting in a damp area?
Yes, if the lighting load needs up to 0.75A at 54V, or operates within the 32.4-54V constant-current region, and the environment fits an IP64 rating. The IP64-rated enclosure is useful where a compact protected driver is needed. It should only be paired with loads that match its 40.5W, 54V output.
