Over 15 years experience of providing support of MEAN WELL Power Supplies
Description
Description
The DDR-120B is a 120W DIN Rail type DC-DC converter for railway and industrial applications. With a 16.8~33.6Vdc input range (nominal 24Vdc), it converts from 24Vdc on-board bus supplies to isolated 12V, 24V, or 48V outputs. Compliant with EN50155:2021 S1 level and rated per IEC61373 for shock and vibration, it operates from -40~+70°C in demanding transport environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the DDR-120B-12 to power 12V surveillance cameras from a 24V DC distribution bus?
Yes. The DDR-120B-12 accepts 16–33V DC input and outputs 12V at up to 10A (120W), making it well suited for stepping down a 24V building DC bus to power multiple 12V IP cameras, DVRs, or access control devices in a DIN rail panel.
Is this converter appropriate for converting a 24V solar system to 12V for radio equipment?
The DDR-120B-12 accepts 16–33V input, which covers a typical 24V solar battery bank including charge-state voltage variations. With 120W (10A at 12V) of output capacity and 4KVdc isolation, it can cleanly power 12V two-way radios, repeaters, or communication gear at remote solar sites.
Can the DDR-120B-12 supply 12V to industrial HMI displays and embedded PCs in a factory panel?
Yes. At 120W and 10A output, the DDR-120B-12 has enough capacity for industrial displays and embedded computing platforms that run on 12V. Its 24V-nominal input range (16–33V) matches common factory DC bus voltages, and the DIN rail mounting fits standard industrial enclosures.
Will the DDR-120B-12 work in a freezer warehouse control cabinet?
The DDR-120B-12 is rated for -40°C to +85°C, so it can operate in freezer environments well below 0°C without issues. The fanless design eliminates concerns about fan bearings seizing in extreme cold, and there are no vents that could accumulate frost.
How does the DDR-120B input range differ from the DDR-120A and DDR-120C?
The DDR-120A sub-series accepts 9–18V DC input, the DDR-120B accepts 16–33V, the DDR-120C accepts 33–67V, and the DDR-120D accepts 67–154V. The B-series is designed for 24V nominal DC bus systems. All DDR-120 models share the same 125.2 x 102.0 x 32.0 mm DIN rail form factor and are available in 12V, 24V, and 48V output variants.
