Mean Well DRS-240-48 All-In-One Intelligent Security Power 240W

The DRS-240-48 is an all-in-one intelligent security power unit that combines a 240W 48V DC power supply, DC-UPS, battery charger, and status monitoring in one compact DIN rail form factor. It is intended for security and related industrial applications where backup power and alarm/status visibility are important.

This model provides 48V DC output with a 240W power rating and 3.85A rated current. It accepts a wide 90 to 305VAC input range and also supports 127 to 431VDC input.

Unlike a standard DIN rail PSU that only provides DC output, the DRS-240-48 adds DC-UPS functionality, battery charging, and status monitoring in the same unit. It also includes relay contacts and LED indicators for conditions such as AC fail, battery low, charger fail, and DC-OK.

The DRS-240-48 is suitable for both lead acid and lithium-ion batteries. It also supports selectable 2-stage or 3-stage charging, and the charging current is adjustable from 20% to 100%.

This model is rated for operation from -30°C to +70°C, which supports use in a wide range of industrial and security enclosures. It uses free air convection cooling and includes over-temperature protection with auto derating.

The unit includes built-in status monitoring with Form C relay contacts and LED indicators for key operating conditions. It also supports built-in MODBus protocol, with CANBus available as an option, and some parameters can be adjusted through the communication interface.

The DRS-240-48 includes protection for short circuit, overload, over voltage, over temperature with auto derating, battery reverse polarity, and battery cut off. Its overload protection is specified at 105% to 135% of rated output power, and over voltage protection is specified at 135% to 155% of rated output voltage.

This model is approved to UL62368-1 and RCM AS/NZS 62368.1 safety standards. Its signal and alarm design is stated to meet UL2524, NFPA 1221, BS EN/EN54-4, and GB17945 requirements, and EMC compliance includes EN55032 Class B and multiple EN61000 standards.
