Overview

HLG-120H-36A is the 36V output model of this series: rated current 3.4A, rated power 122.4W, typical efficiency 93%. Type A: Io and Vo adjustable through built-in potentiometer (IP65).

HLG-120H series is a 120W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-120H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-120H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Can I use the HLG-120H-36A for 36V LED strip lighting under a canopy or covered patio?

Yes. The HLG-120H-36A delivers 36V at up to 3.4A (122.4W) with an IP65 water-resistant rating, which protects against splashing water and dust in sheltered outdoor areas such as canopies, soffits, or covered patios. For fully exposed locations with direct rain, consider the IP67-rated HLG-120H-36 or HLG-120H-36B instead.

Is the adjustable output on the HLG-120H-36A useful for tuning 36V LED panel brightness?

Yes. The built-in potentiometers let you trim the output voltage within 33-40V and the output current within 1.7-3.4A. This is helpful when you need to reduce brightness slightly or match the driver output precisely to a specific 36V LED panel or module array without an external dimmer.

Yes. At 122.4W and 36V, the HLG-120H-36A handles sizeable arrays of 36V LED modules for light boxes, menu boards, or backlit displays. The adjustable output lets you dial in the exact voltage to match your module string, and the 90-305VAC input supports most commercial mains supplies worldwide.

How many meters of 36V LED strip can the HLG-120H-36A handle?

Divide the 122.4W rated power by your strip's rated power per meter. For example, if your strip draws 12W/m, you could run up to about 10 meters (122.4W / 12W per meter = 10.2m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 122.4W for reliable operation.

Is the HLG-120H-36A suitable for a damp basement or parking garage?

Yes. IP65 protects against low-pressure water jets from any direction and complete dust ingress, which is more than adequate for damp indoor environments like basements, garages, or parking structures. For locations with standing water or direct heavy rain, the IP67-rated HLG-120H-36 or HLG-120H-36B would be a better choice.
