HLG-480H-30A is the 30V output model of this series: rated current 16A, rated power 480W, typical efficiency 94.5%. Type A: Io and Vo adjustable through built-in potentiometer (IP65).
HLG-480H series is a 480W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-480H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 24V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 95.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications.HLG-480H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
- 5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. - 8. To fulfill requirements of the latest ErP regulation for lighting fixtures, this LED driver can only be used behind a switch without permanently connected to the mains.

Can I use the HLG-480H-30A for a large 30V LED strip project where I need to fine-tune the voltage?
Yes. The HLG-480H-30A provides 480W at 30V (16A) and includes a built-in potentiometer for output voltage and current adjustment. This lets you dial in the exact voltage your 30V LED strips require within the 25.5-31.5V adjustment range (current adjustable 8-16A), which is useful when compensating for voltage drop over long runs.
Is the HLG-480H-30A a good fit for 30V commercial horticultural LED grow lights?
Yes. At 480W it provides substantial power for high-output grow-light panels operating at 30V. The adjustable output lets you match the driver's voltage precisely to the LED array's forward voltage, maximizing efficiency. Its -40°C to +90°C case temperature (Tcase) range suits greenhouse and indoor grow-room conditions, with derating above about 60°C ambient at rated current.
Can the HLG-480H-30A drive 30V LED fixtures in a covered outdoor canopy or gazebo?
Yes. Its IP65 rating protects against dust and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for sheltered outdoor areas like canopies, pergolas, or covered patios. For locations with direct rain exposure or potential standing water, the IP67-rated HLG-480H-30 or HLG-480H-30B would be more appropriate.
How many meters of 30V LED strip can the HLG-480H-30A support?
Divide 480W by your strip's wattage per meter. A 30V strip rated at 15W/m could run up to 32 meters (480W / 15W per meter = 32m). A strip at 24W/m would allow 20 meters. Check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total draw at or below 480W.
Is the HLG-480H-30A suitable for fully exposed outdoor mounting?
Not recommended for fully exposed locations. The HLG-480H-30A carries an IP65 water-resistance rating, which handles dust and low-pressure water spray but is not designed for submersion or prolonged direct rain. Mount it in a sheltered spot or use a weatherproof enclosure. For IP67 waterproof protection, choose the HLG-480H-30 or HLG-480H-30B.
What are the differences between the HLG-480H-30, 30A, 30AB, and 30B?
All four share the same 480W / 30V / 16A core specs with a CC range of 15-30V. The base HLG-480H-30 has fixed output and IP67 waterproofing. The -30A adds output voltage/current adjustment via potentiometer (IP65). The -30AB adds both adjustment and 0-10V/PWM/resistance dimming (IP65). The -30B offers dimming input only and retains IP67 waterproofing.
