Overview

RPS-30-5 is the 5V output model of this series: rated current 6A, rated power 30W, typical efficiency 82%.

RPS-30 is a 30W highly reliable green PCB type medical power supply with a high power density on the 3” by 2” footprint. It accepts 80~264VAC input and offers various output voltages between 3.3V and 48V. The working efficiency is up to 92% and the extremely low no load power consumption is down below 0.1W. RPS-30 is able to be used for ClassⅡ(no FG) system design. The extremely low leakage current is less than 80μA. In addition, it conforms to international medical regulations (2*MOPP) and EMC BS EN/EN55011, perfectly fitting all kinds of BF rated “patient contact” medical system equipment.a

Test conditions and notes8

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. 33% Duty cycle maximum within every 30 seconds. Average output power should not exceed the rated power.
3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1μF & 47μF parallel capacitor.
4. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
5. Derating may be needed under low input voltages. Please check the derating curve for more details.
6. Touch current was measured from primary input to DC output.
7. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).

Can I use the RPS-30-5 to power a 5V single-board computer or embedded processor?

Yes, this supply provides constant 5V output up to 6A with a 30W rating. It is suitable for 5V embedded computing hardware as long as the total load remains within those limits.

Is the RPS-30-5 suitable for 5V USB-powered style electronics inside industrial equipment?

It can be used for 5V electronics in industrial or IT equipment when the system requires a regulated 5V rail and draws no more than 6A or 30W. Its compact 76.2 × 50.8 × 24.0 mm size also helps in space-constrained internal builds.

Can this model run 5V sensors, logic boards, or HMI support electronics?

Yes, it fits low-voltage control electronics that operate from constant 5V DC. With up to 6A available, it is appropriate for grouped 5V logic, sensor, or interface loads that stay inside the 30W output rating.

Is the RPS-30-5 intended for outdoor use?

The temperature specification is -30°C to +70°C, but the provided specs do not include an IP rating. That means temperature tolerance is defined, while dust and water protection are not, so outdoor suitability is not established by these specs alone.
