Overview

ODLC-45-500 is the model of this series: rated current 500mA, rated power 45W, typical efficiency 85%.

ODLC-45 series is a 45W LED AC/DC driver featuring the constant current mode output with flicker free design.ODLC-45 operates from 90~295VAC and offers models with different rated current ranging between 350mA and 1400mA. Thanks to the efficiency up to 86%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -20℃~+85℃ case temperature under free convection. The design of plastic housing and IP67 ingress protection level allows this series to fit indoor wet applications. ODLC-45 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for lighting system.

Test conditions and notes10

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
3. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
4. Length of set up time is measured at cold first start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
5. Aux. 12V will be damaged with short circuit; It will not be available when output voltage is not in constant current region or output no load condition.
6. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again.
7. The DALI version driver does not support the bit 1: Lamp failure in the Command 144 Query status of the DALI standard.
8. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).

Can I use the ODLC-45-500 for a 500mA LED downlight array?

Yes, if the downlight is designed for 500mA constant current operation and the LED load stays within the 54-90V constant current range. This model is rated at 45W, so the connected LED array also needs to remain within that power limit. It is a constant current driver rather than a constant voltage supply.

Is the ODLC-45-500 a good match for linear signage modules that need 500mA?

It can be, provided the signage module is specified for 500mA constant current input. The output adjusts within 54-90V, so the actual number of LEDs depends on the forward voltage of each LED in the module. It is not intended for signage products that require fixed-voltage power.
