Test conditions and notes10
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25β of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Please check the static characteristics for more details. Please connect L line to the positive pole and N line to the negative pole under DC input.
- 5. The power supply is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can the APV-12-12 power a 12V LED strip for under-cabinet lighting?
Yes. The APV-12-12 outputs 12V at up to 1A, giving a maximum of 12W. It suits short runs of 12V LED strip in enclosed spaces such as under-cabinet or display-case lighting. Keep the total strip load at or below 12W.
How many meters of 12V LED strip can the APV-12-12 drive?
The APV-12-12 delivers 12W at 12V. Dividing 12W by your strip's rated power per meter gives the maximum length β for example, 12W Γ· 4.8 W/m equals about 2.5 m. Always check your strip's rated power per meter before sizing the run.
Is the APV-12-12 suitable for outdoor or damp-location use?
The APV-12-12 carries an IP42 rating, which protects against solid objects larger than 1 mm and dripping water falling at an angle up to 15Β°. It is not rated for direct outdoor exposure, rain, or splash environments. For outdoor or wet-location LED signage, a driver rated IP65 or higher is required.
How does the APV-12-12 differ from the APV-12-15 and APV-12-24 in the same wattage family?
All three share the same 12W power class and identical 77.0 Γ 40.0 Γ 29.0 mm housing. The APV-12-12 outputs 12V at 1A; the APV-12-15 outputs 15V at 0.8A; the APV-12-24 outputs 24V at 0.5A. Select based on the voltage your LED strip or luminaire requires.
What input voltage range does the APV-12-12 accept?
The APV-12-12 accepts 90β264VAC, covering standard mains voltages worldwide including 100V (Japan), 120V (North America), and 230β240V (Europe and Australia). No manual voltage switching is needed.
