Overview

APV-8E-24 is the 24V output model of this series: rated current 0.34A, rated power 8.16W, typical efficiency 78.5%.

APV-8E series is one 8W AC/DC constant voltage mode single output LED power supply. It accepts input 180~264VAC and provides three models with different output voltage, 5V, 12V, 24V, respectively, that the small wattage LED applications employ the most frequently. Exploiting Class II design (without FG pin) and adopting the 94V-0 flame retardant plastic enclosure, APV-8E ideally fits the entry-level LED applications.

Test conditions and notes9

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
4. Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Please check the static characteristics for more details.
5. The power supply is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. 6. When applying DC voltage for input, please connect the brown input wire to the positive side whereas blue input wire to the negative side.
7. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).
8. This product is not intended for LED lighting luminaire applications in the EU.(In the EU the LPF/NPF/XLG series are recommended.)

What input voltage does the APV-8E-24 require?

The APV-8E-24 accepts 180–264VAC input, suiting high-mains regions at 230–240V. It will not operate on 100–120V mains supplies. It can also run from 254–370VDC, connecting the brown input wire to positive and the blue input wire to negative.

What 24V LED lighting applications suit the APV-8E-24?

The APV-8E-24 outputs 24V at 0.34A for 8.16W maximum from 180–264VAC mains. It is suited to small 24V LED accent strips, individual 24V LED spotlight modules, and compact 24V LED signage elements where total load is at or below 8.16W. The datasheet notes it is not intended for LED lighting luminaire applications in the EU.

How long a 24V LED strip can the APV-8E-24 support?
