HLG-240H-48 is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 5A, rated power 240W, typical efficiency 93%.

HLG-240H series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-240H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-240H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. 8. To fulfill requirements of the latest ErP regulation for lighting fixtures, this LED driver can only be used behind a switch without permanently connected to the mains.

Can I use the HLG-240H-48 for 48V outdoor LED strip lighting?

Yes. The HLG-240H-48 outputs 240W at 48V and 5A with an IP67 waterproof rating, making it suitable for fully exposed outdoor 48V LED strip installations. The -40°C to +90°C case temperature range and metal housing handle harsh weather year-round.

Is the HLG-240H-48 a good driver for 48V LED grow lights?

Yes. Many quantum board and COB LED grow light assemblies operate at 48V. The HLG-240H-48 provides 240W at 48V in constant-current mode with a CC range of 24-48V, delivering stable current as LED forward voltage varies with temperature. Note that this is a fixed-output model with no dimming; for dimming control, use the -48B or -48AB.

Can the HLG-240H-48 power 48V LED modules in large outdoor signage?

Yes. At 240W and 48V with 5A output, it can drive arrays of 48V LED sign modules for channel letters, pylon signs, or illuminated billboards. The IP67 waterproof rating ensures reliable operation inside weather-exposed sign enclosures. The wide 90-305VAC input works across global mains voltages.

Can I use the HLG-240H-48 for 48V DC bus distribution in a small lighting network?

Yes. A 48V bus reduces current and voltage drop over longer cable runs compared to 12V or 24V systems. The HLG-240H-48 provides 5A at 48V (240W), making it suitable for feeding multiple downstream 48V-to-lower-voltage converters or direct 48V fixtures in commercial or industrial lighting layouts.

How many meters of 48V LED strip can the HLG-240H-48 power?

Divide 240W by your strip's rated power per meter. For a 48V strip drawing 20W/m, that gives 12 meters (240W / 20W per meter = 12m). A more efficient strip at 10W/m would allow 24 meters. Always verify your strip's rated wattage per meter and keep total load at or below 240W.

Can the HLG-240H-48 be installed outdoors in freezing winter conditions?

Yes. It is rated for a case temperature (Tcase) of -40°C to +90°C, so it handles extreme cold, with output derating at high temperatures per the sheet. The IP67 waterproof rating protects against snow, ice, and rain ingress. The fanless metal housing cools by free air convection.
