Overview

HBG-240-48B is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 5A, rated power 240W, typical efficiency 93%. Type B: 3 in 1 dimming function (1~10Vdc, 10V PWM signal and resistance) (IP67).

HBG-240 series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the circular shape design. It operates from 90~305VAC and offers the dual modes constant voltage and constant current output models with different rated voltage between 24V and 60V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +75℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HBG-240 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes11

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
4. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
6. Length of set up time is measured at cold first start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
8. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can I use the HBG-240-48B for a 48V LED high bay light?

Yes, this series is shown for high bay light installation and this driver provides 240W at 48V with a 28.8-48V constant current region. It is a fit when the fixture is designed for constant-current operation within that voltage range and up to 5A output.

Is this driver suitable for 48V outdoor signage lighting?

It can be used for 48V constant-current signage lighting if the load stays within the 28.8-48V constant current region and the 240W maximum output. The series' IP65 or IP67 approval supports outdoor and wet-location use when the rest of the sign system is rated for the same conditions.

Can the HBG-240-48B run 48V architectural or area lighting outdoors?

Yes, for 48V constant-current lighting loads up to 240W, this model is suitable for outdoor architectural or area-lighting applications. The series' IP65 or IP67 approval and -40°C to +75°C working case temperature (Tcase) range support exposed environments with wide temperature swings.
