Overview

PWM-90-36 is the 36V output model of this series: rated current 2.5A, rated power 90W, typical efficiency 90.5%.

PWM-90 series is a 90W LED AC/DC LED driver featuring the constant voltage mode with PWM style output, which is able to maintain the brightness homogeneity when driving all kinds of LED strips.PWM-90 operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 48V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 90.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +85℃ case temperature under free air convection. The entire series is rated with IP67 ingress protection level and is suitable to work for dry, damp or wet locations. PWM-90 is equipped with dimming function that varies the duty cycle of the output, providing great flexibility for LED strips applications.

Test conditions and notes9

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
3. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
4. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. 5. This series meets the typical life expectancy of >50,000 hours of operation when Tcase, particularly tc point (or TMP, per DLC), is about 75℃ or less.

Can the PWM-90-36 power 36V LED strips used in commercial signage?

Yes. The PWM-90-36 outputs 36V at up to 2.5A (90W) and supports 36V LED strip loads. At 90W it is suitable for medium-length runs of 36V strip used in illuminated channel letter signage or box signs.

What dimming inputs does the PWM-90-36 accept?

The PWM-90-36 (Blank-Type) includes built-in 3-in-1 dimming, supporting 0–10V analog, 10V PWM signal, and resistance dimming. This flexibility allows it to work with a wide variety of compatible dimmer controls without requiring an external adapter.

Is the PWM-90-36 suitable for outdoor LED lighting applications?

Yes. With an IP67 waterproof rating, the PWM-90-36 is protected against dust and temporary water immersion, making it appropriate for outdoor LED lighting where the driver may be exposed to rain. The operating range of -40°C to +85°C also supports year-round outdoor installation.

How much 36V LED strip can the PWM-90-36 drive?

The driver provides 90W at 36V. A 36V strip rated at 10W per meter would support approximately 9 meters (90W ÷ 10W/m = 9m). For continuous operation, apply an 80% derating (72W effective), giving about 7.2 meters at that strip density. Always verify the rated power per meter of your specific strip.

Can the PWM-90-36 be used for LED lighting in a cold-climate outdoor installation?

Yes. The specified operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C ensures reliable operation in extremely cold outdoor environments. The IP67-rated fully enclosed plastic case also guards against moisture and condensation ingress.

Is the PWM-90-36 compatible with a standard PWM dimmer for theatrical or display lighting?
