Overview

PWM-90-36DA is the 36V output model of this series: rated current 2.5A, rated power 90W, typical efficiency 90.5%.

PWM-90 series is a 90W LED AC/DC LED driver featuring the constant voltage mode with PWM style output, which is able to maintain the brightness homogeneity when driving all kinds of LED strips.PWM-90 operates from 90~305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 48V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 90.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +85℃ case temperature under free air convection. The entire series is rated with IP67 ingress protection level and is suitable to work for dry, damp or wet locations. PWM-90 is equipped with dimming function that varies the duty cycle of the output, providing great flexibility for LED strips applications.

Test conditions and notes8

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
3. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
4. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again.
5. This series meets the typical life expectancy of >50,000 hours of operation when Tcase, particularly tc point (or TMP, per DLC), is about 75℃ or less.

Can the PWM-90-36DA be used with a DALI lighting controller for zone dimming?

Yes. The PWM-90-36DA has a native DALI interface allowing it to receive broadcast or individually addressed dimming commands from any DALI-compliant controller. It can be grouped with other DALI devices for coordinated zone dimming.

Is the PWM-90-36DA appropriate for outdoor or wet-location LED lighting?

Yes. The IP67 waterproof rating confirms protection against dust and temporary water immersion. This makes it suitable for outdoor architectural lighting, covered exterior signage, and wet-location fixtures where the driver is not permanently submerged.

How much 36V LED strip can the PWM-90-36DA support?

The driver outputs 90W at 36V (2.5A maximum). A 36V strip rated at 9W per meter would allow approximately 10 meters (90W ÷ 9W/m = 10m). For continuous-duty installations, limit load to 80% of rated output (72W) — about 8 meters at that strip rating. Confirm the wattage per meter on your specific strip.

Can the PWM-90-36DA drive 36V LED strips in a DALI-controlled retail environment?

Yes. The DALI interface allows precise, addressable dimming in a retail lighting control system. At 90W and 36V, it is capable of driving display lighting strips or perimeter accent strips within a single DALI zone.
