Overview

PWM-90-48 is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 1.88A, rated power 90.24W, typical efficiency 90.5%.

PWM-90 series is a 90W LED AC/DC LED driver featuring the constant voltage mode with PWM style output, which is able to maintain the brightness homogeneity when driving all kinds of LED strips.PWM-90 operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 48V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 90.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +85℃ case temperature under free air convection. The entire series is rated with IP67 ingress protection level and is suitable to work for dry, damp or wet locations. PWM-90 is equipped with dimming function that varies the duty cycle of the output, providing great flexibility for LED strips applications.

Test conditions and notes9

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
3. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
4. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. 5. This series meets the typical life expectancy of >50,000 hours of operation when Tcase, particularly tc point (or TMP, per DLC), is about 75℃ or less.

Can the PWM-90-48 power 48V LED strips used in commercial or architectural lighting?

Yes. The PWM-90-48 outputs 48V at up to 1.88A (90W) and is designed to drive 48V LED strip loads. It is suitable for commercial architectural lighting runs where 48V strips are used for their efficiency advantage over lower-voltage alternatives.

What dimming methods are built into the PWM-90-48?

The PWM-90-48 (Blank-Type) includes 3-in-1 dimming, accepting 0–10V analog, 10V PWM signal, and resistance dimming inputs. This makes it compatible with a wide range of commercial and residential dimmer controls without requiring additional interface hardware.

Is the PWM-90-48 rated for outdoor installation?

Yes. With an IP67 waterproof rating, the driver is fully protected against dust and temporary water immersion, making it suitable for outdoor use. Its operating range of -40°C to +85°C also supports installation in harsh outdoor environments year-round.

How much 48V LED strip can the PWM-90-48 power?

The driver delivers 90W at 48V. A 48V strip rated at 10W per meter would support approximately 9 meters (90W ÷ 10W/m = 9m). For continuous operation, derate to 80% (72W effective), supporting about 7.2 meters at that strip density. Always check your strip's rated power per meter.

Can I use the PWM-90-48 in an outdoor LED signage installation in a cold climate?

Yes. The -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range ensures reliable operation in freezing cold climates. The IP67-sealed plastic enclosure also resists moisture and ice condensation, which is important in outdoor winter deployments.

Is the PWM-90-48 suitable for powering 48V LED strips in a retail display or museum lighting system?

Yes. The 3-in-1 dimming capability — including 0–10V analog input — allows integration with common commercial dimming systems used in retail and museum environments. The 90W output at 48V can support a defined display zone of 48V strip lighting.
