Description
Description
The DDR-120D is a 120W DIN Rail type DC-DC converter for railway and industrial applications. With a 67.2~154Vdc input range (nominal 110Vdc), it converts from 110Vdc on-board bus supplies to isolated 12V, 24V, or 48V outputs. Compliant with EN50155:2021 S1 level and rated per IEC61373 for shock and vibration, it operates from -40~+70°C in demanding transport environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the DDR-120D-12 to power 12V sensors and relays from a 110V DC distribution bus?
Yes. The DDR-120D-12 accepts 67.2-154V DC input, covering nominal 110V DC buses common in legacy industrial plants and railway signaling systems. It provides a regulated 12V output at up to 10A (120W), which is sufficient for banks of sensors, relay modules, and indicator lights on a DIN rail panel.
Is the DDR-120D-12 a good choice for converting a 125V DC UPS bus to 12V for embedded controllers?
Yes. A 125V DC UPS bus falls well within the 67.2-154V input range. The 120W capacity at 12V/10A gives you headroom for embedded single-board computers, HMI displays, and peripheral devices. The 4KVdc I/O isolation protects sensitive electronics from noise or faults on the high-voltage bus.
Can I run 12V LED indicator strips in a control panel using the DDR-120D-12?
Yes. At 12V and 10A you have 120W available, which is enough for several meters of 12V indicator or status LED strips inside a control panel. The fanless design avoids introducing vibration or noise into the panel, and the slim 32mm DIN rail profile conserves space on the rail.
Is the DDR-120D-12 suitable for cold-start environments like outdoor substations?
Yes. Its -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range covers extreme cold-start conditions found in outdoor substations, telecom huts, and remote monitoring stations. It should be installed inside a sealed enclosure to protect against moisture and debris since it does not carry a dedicated IP rating.
How does the DDR-120D-12 compare to other 120W DDR models with 12V output?
The DDR series offers four input ranges at the 120W/12V level. The DDR-120A-12 accepts 9.2-18V input (99.6W, 8.3A). The DDR-120B-12 accepts 16.8-33.6V (120W, 10A). The DDR-120C-12 accepts 33.6-67.2V (120W, 10A). The DDR-120D-12 accepts 67.2-154V (120W, 10A). Select the suffix letter that matches your DC source voltage.
