Description
Description
The DDR-120D is a 120W DIN Rail type DC-DC converter for railway and industrial applications. With a 67.2~154Vdc input range (nominal 110Vdc), it converts from 110Vdc on-board bus supplies to isolated 12V, 24V, or 48V outputs. Compliant with EN50155:2021 S1 level and rated per IEC61373 for shock and vibration, it operates from -40~+70°C in demanding transport environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the DDR-120D-24 to supply 24V automation equipment from a 110V DC plant bus?
Yes. The DDR-120D-24 accepts 67.2-154V DC and outputs 24V at 5A (120W), which is the standard voltage for most industrial PLCs, solenoid valves, and 24V I/O modules. Its DIN rail form factor lets it drop directly into an existing automation panel alongside other rail-mounted devices.
Is the DDR-120D-24 appropriate for powering 24V HVAC actuators from a high-voltage DC bus?
Yes. HVAC motorized damper actuators and valve actuators commonly run on 24V DC, and the DDR-120D-24 provides 120W at 5A from a 67.2-154V input. Verify that the combined inrush current of your actuators does not exceed the converter's peak current capability, and keep steady-state load under 120W.
Can the DDR-120D-24 step down a 125V DC battery system to power 24V communication radios?
Yes. A 125V DC battery bank is within the 67.2-154V input range. At 24V/5A the converter can supply radios, modems, and small network switches typically found in utility or transportation communication cabinets. The 4KVdc I/O isolation prevents ground loop issues between the battery system and the radio equipment.
Can the DDR-120D-24 be installed in a non-climate-controlled equipment shelter?
Yes. The -40°C to +85°C operating range handles both freezing winter and hot summer temperatures in non-climate-controlled shelters. The fanless design requires no air filters or maintenance. Mount it inside a sealed enclosure to protect against dust and condensation, as the converter itself does not carry an IP ingress rating.
What input range options are available for 120W DDR converters with 24V output?
There are four input-range variants. The DDR-120A-24 covers 9.2-18V input (100.8W, 4.2A). The DDR-120B-24 covers 16.8-33.6V (120W, 5A). The DDR-120C-24 covers 33.6-67.2V (120W, 5A). The DDR-120D-24 covers 67.2-154V (120W, 5A). Pick the suffix whose input window includes your DC source voltage.
