DDR-30L-24 is the 24V output model of this series: rated current 1.25A, rated power 30W, typical efficiency 91%.

DDR-30 series is a 30W DIN Rail type DC-DC converter with main features including DIN rail-type easy installation, ultra slim width (35mm), 4:1 ultra wide input voltage, -40~+85℃ wide operating temperature, 4KVdc I/O isolation, adjustable output voltage ( 10%) and full protective functions..etc. This series has two input options: 9~36V /18~75V and various output options: 5V / 12V / 15V / 24V and can be used for industrial control, security control, communication system and other fields. Suitable applications are DC buck/boost regulator, increasing system insulation level and voltage drop compensation along cable...etc.

  1. 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at normal input (G:24Vdc, L:48Vdc), rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
  2. 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1μF & 47μF parallel capacitor.
  3. 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
  4. 4. Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Please check the derating curve for more details.
  5. 5. The power supply is considered as an independent unit, but the final equipment still need to re-confirm that the whole system complies with the EMC directives. Can I use the DDR-30L-24 to step down a 48V telecom bus to 24V for powering edge networking equipment?

Yes. The DDR-30L-24 accepts 18-75V DC input, covering the full range of a 48V telecom bus (typically 36-72V). It delivers 24V at up to 1.25A (30W) with 4KVdc I/O isolation, making it well suited for small network switches, media converters, and other 24V edge devices mounted in telecom racks or cabinets.

Is the DDR-30L-24 suitable for powering 24V solenoid valves and small actuators in a process control panel?

Yes, provided the total load stays within 30W. At 24V and 1.25A, it can drive a few solenoid valves or small pneumatic actuators typical in process automation. Its DIN rail form factor and slim 35mm width integrate neatly alongside other automation components in standard control panels.

Can the DDR-30L-24 power 24V building automation controllers from a 72V DC distribution bus?

Only if the bus never exceeds the 75V DC maximum input. A 72V nominal bus leaves very little headroom, so check its highest voltage (for example during battery charging) before choosing this model. Within the 18-75V range, the converter delivers isolated 24V at up to 1.25A, which is enough for BACnet controllers, room sensors, and similar low-power 24V building automation devices.

Does the DDR-30L-24 need forced-air cooling in a sealed DIN rail enclosure?

The spec sheet lists no fan or forced-air cooling requirement for the DDR-30L-24. It is rated for a -40°C to +85°C working temperature, but the available load is reduced at higher ambient temperatures according to the derating curve. In tightly sealed cabinets where ambient temperature may rise significantly, ensure the internal temperature and load stay within the derating curve.

If I need more than 30W at 24V on the same DC bus, what are my options in the DDR series?

The DDR-30L-24 is limited to 30W (24V at 1.25A); its overload protection engages at 110-150% of rated power with constant current limiting, so it should not be pushed beyond its rating. The DDR-30 spec sheet covers only 30W models, so for more power at 24V, select a higher-wattage model and confirm its input range and ratings on that model's own datasheet.
