HLG-185H-36B is the 36V output model of this series: rated current 5.2A, rated power 187.2W, typical efficiency 93.5%.

HLG-185H series is a 185W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-185H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 94%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-185H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Can I use the HLG-185H-36B with a dimmer to control 36V outdoor LED lighting?

Yes. The HLG-185H-36B accepts 1-10V, PWM and resistance dimming signals and has a metal housing with IP65/IP67 ingress protection designed for indoor and outdoor applications, making it a good fit for dimmable outdoor LED fixtures at 36V. Its case temperature range is -40°C to +90°C, with load derating at higher temperatures.

Is the HLG-185H-36B suitable for dimmable 36V LED landscape or pathway lighting?

Yes. With 187.2W at 36V, IP65/IP67 ingress protection, and a 1-10V/PWM/resistance dimming input, it can power and dim landscape bollards, pathway lights, or garden fixtures using 36V LEDs. Waterproof connectors are available for the output cable for wet or outdoor wiring.

Can the HLG-185H-36B power dimmable 36V LED signage in a fully exposed outdoor location?

How many meters of 36V LED strip can the HLG-185H-36B support?

Divide 187.2W by your strip's wattage per meter. For example, a 36V strip rated at 12W/m would allow about 15.6 meters (187.2W / 12W per meter = 15.6m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 187.2W.

Can the HLG-185H-36B handle freezing winter conditions in an exposed outdoor installation?

Yes. The IP65/IP67-rated metal housing is designed for outdoor applications, and the -40°C to +90°C case temperature range covers extreme cold winters; in hot conditions the output load must be derated per the datasheet's load-vs-temperature curve. Working humidity is rated 20-95% RH non-condensing.
