Overview

HLG-40H-15 is the 15V output model of this series: rated current 2.67A, rated power 40.05W, typical efficiency 86.5%. Type Blank: Io and Vo fixed (IP67).

HLG-40H series is a 40W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-40H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 89.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40 ~ +80 case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications.

Test conditions and notes13

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.

Can I use the HLG-40H-15 to power 15V LED modules for outdoor signage?

Yes. The HLG-40H-15 delivers 40W at 15V with up to 2.67A and carries an IP67 waterproof rating. It can drive 15V LED sign modules in channel letters, mini lightboxes, or wayfinding signs exposed to weather.

Is the HLG-40H-15 suitable for a small 15V LED strip installation in a garden path?

Yes. At 40W and 15V output with IP67 waterproofing, it can power a modest run of 15V LED strip along walkways, garden borders, or landscape features. The compact 171 x 61.5 x 36.8 mm housing is easy to conceal in a ground-level junction box or behind landscaping.

Can the HLG-40H-15 power a small 15V LED grow light for a seedling rack?

Yes. The 40W at 15V is adequate for a compact grow-light panel or bar operating at 15V. The wide 90-305VAC input works worldwide, and in warm grow rooms keep the case (Tcase) within the rated -40°C to +80°C, derating the load at higher ambient temperatures as the sheet's curve shows.

How many meters of 15V LED strip can the HLG-40H-15 power?

Divide 40W by the strip's rated power per meter. For example, a 15V strip rated at 5W/m could run up to 8 meters (40W / 5W per meter = 8m). Always check your strip's rated power per meter and keep total load at or below 40W.

Can the HLG-40H-15 be installed in an outdoor location exposed to rain and humidity?

Yes. Its IP67 waterproof rating protects against dust ingress and temporary submersion in water up to 1 meter. It can be mounted in direct rain, near sprinkler zones, or in high-humidity environments without additional weatherproofing.

What are the differences between the HLG-40H-15, 15A, 15AB, and 15B models?

All four share the same 40W / 15V / 2.67A core specs with a CC range of 9-15V. The base HLG-40H-15 has fixed output and is IP67 waterproof. The -15A adds output voltage/current adjustment via built-in potentiometer (IP65). The -15AB adds both adjustment and 1-10V/PWM dimming input (IP65). The -15B provides dimming input only and retains IP67.
