Overview

HLG-40H-36A is the 36V output model of this series: rated current 1.12A, rated power 40.32W, typical efficiency 88.5%. Type A: Io and Vo adjustable through built-in potentiometer (IP65).

HLG-40H series is a 40W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-40H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 89.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40 ~ +80 case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-40H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. 8. To fulfill requirements of the latest ErP regulation for lighting fixtures, this LED driver can only be used behind a switch without permanently connected to the mains.

Can I use the HLG-40H-36A to fine-tune output for a 36V LED art or display installation?

How many meters of 36V LED strip can the HLG-40H-36A handle?

Divide 40W by your strip's rated wattage per meter. For a 36V strip drawing 8W/m, you can run 5 meters (40W / 8W per meter = 5m). For a higher-density strip at 14W/m, about 2.8 meters. Always verify your strip's rated power per meter and keep total consumption within 40W.

Is the HLG-40H-36A water-resistant enough for a damp warehouse or garage?

Yes. Its IP65 rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, which is more than adequate for damp warehouses, garages, or covered loading docks. For locations with direct rain exposure or potential standing water, consider the IP67-rated HLG-40H-36 base model.
