Test conditions and notes13
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Please check the static characteristics for more details.
- 5. The power supply is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. (as available on https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf)
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 7. LPV-35-5 can provide 6A of output current continuously. Based on the requirement of UL1310 class 2, the output current is only certified up to 5A for the test report of LPV-35-5.
- 8. Suitable for indoor use or outdoor use without direct sunlight exposure. Please avoid immerse in the water over 30 minute.
- 9. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).

What is the LPV-35-5 rated output, and what LED loads does it suit?
The LPV-35-5 delivers 30W at 5V (5A output) using constant-voltage mode. It is suited to 5V LED strips, low-voltage signage modules, or decorative lighting specifically designed to run on a 5V supply.
How many metres of 5V LED strip can the LPV-35-5 drive?
The driver's maximum output is 30W at 5V. Divide 30W by the rated watts per metre of your strip to find the maximum run — for example, a 5 W/m strip allows up to 6 metres (30 ÷ 5 = 6 m). Always check your strip's rated power per metre before sizing the installation.
Can the LPV-35-5 be used outdoors or in damp locations?
Yes, within limits. The IP67 rating provides complete dust protection and resistance to temporary water immersion (avoid immersion over 30 minutes), and the unit operates from -30°C to +65°C with derating at higher temperatures. It suits indoor or outdoor locations out of direct sunlight, damp signage enclosures, or installations exposed to condensation.
How does the LPV-35-5 compare to the LPV-35-12 and LPV-35-15 in terms of power?
The LPV-35-5 outputs 30W, which is slightly lower than the LPV-35-12 (36W at 12V, 3A) and LPV-35-15 (36W at 15V, 2.4A). All three share the 148 × 40 × 30 mm IP67 enclosure; the difference is output voltage and the resulting wattage ceiling at 5V.
