Description
Description
The DDR-120A is a 120W DIN Rail type DC-DC converter for railway and industrial applications. With a 9~18Vdc input range (nominal 12Vdc), it steps down from 12Vdc on-board bus supplies to isolated 12V, 24V, or 48V outputs. Compliant with EN50155:2021 S1 level and rated to withstand shock and vibration per IEC61373, it operates reliably from -40~+70°C in demanding transport environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the DDR-120A-12 to power 12V embedded systems in a DIN rail control panel?
Yes. The DDR-120A-12 delivers 12V at up to 8.3A (99.6W), which suits many embedded controllers and single-board computers mounted in DIN rail enclosures. Its 9–18V DC input range is designed for battery-bus or low-voltage DC distribution systems commonly found in telecom and mobile equipment.
Is the DDR-120A-12 suitable for powering 12V sensors and I/O modules in industrial automation?
It can work well for sensor loops and I/O modules that run on 12V DC, provided total current draw stays within 8.3A. The fanless design and 4KVdc input-to-output isolation help protect sensitive measurement equipment from electrical noise in industrial environments.
Can I use this converter to step down a 12V battery bank to a regulated 12V rail?
The DDR-120A-12 accepts 9–18V DC input, so a nominal 12V battery source falls within range. It provides a regulated, isolated 12V output at up to 8.3A, which is useful for isolating sensitive loads from battery voltage fluctuations in mobile or off-grid installations.
Will the DDR-120A-12 operate reliably in an unheated outdoor cabinet during winter?
The DDR-120A-12 is rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, so it can handle extreme cold without derating. Its fanless, convection-cooled design means there are no moving parts to fail in harsh conditions, though the enclosure should protect it from direct moisture exposure.
How does the DDR-120A-12 compare to other models in the DDR-120 series?
The DDR-120A sub-series accepts 9–18V DC input and comes in 12V (99.6W, 8.3A), 24V (100.8W, 4.2A), and 48V (100.8W, 2.1A) output variants. The DDR-120B accepts 16–33V input, the DDR-120C accepts 33–67V input, and the DDR-120D accepts 67–154V input, each available in 12V, 24V, and 48V outputs at 120W. All share the same 125.2 x 102.0 x 32.0 mm DIN rail form factor.
