Description
Description
The DDR-120A is a 120W DIN Rail type DC-DC converter for railway and industrial applications. With a 9~18Vdc input range (nominal 12Vdc), it steps down from 12Vdc on-board bus supplies to isolated 12V, 24V, or 48V outputs. Compliant with EN50155:2021 S1 level and rated to withstand shock and vibration per IEC61373, it operates reliably from -40~+70°C in demanding transport environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the DDR-120A-24 to power 24V PLC modules from a low-voltage DC bus?
Yes. The DDR-120A-24 converts a 9–18V DC input to a regulated 24V output at up to 4.2A (100.8W), which is sufficient for many compact PLC systems and their associated I/O modules. The 4KVdc isolation protects the control system from noise on the input bus.
Is this converter appropriate for powering 24V solenoid valves in a mobile hydraulic system?
The DDR-120A-24 can supply 24V at 4.2A from a 9–18V DC source such as a vehicle battery system. Its DIN rail mounting, wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and fanless design make it practical for mobile machinery cabinets where vibration and temperature swings are common.
Can I use the DDR-120A-24 to generate 24V for instrumentation from a 12V solar battery bank?
Yes, as long as the battery voltage stays within the 9–18V input range. The DDR-120A-24 provides an isolated 24V output at up to 4.2A, making it suitable for stepping up a 12V nominal battery bus to power 24V field instruments or data acquisition equipment in remote solar-powered installations.
Does the DDR-120A-24 need forced airflow in a sealed DIN rail enclosure?
No. The DDR-120A-24 uses a fanless convection-cooled design, so it does not require forced airflow. It operates from -40°C to +85°C, but in a sealed enclosure you should verify that internal ambient temperature stays within that range under full 100.8W load to avoid thermal derating.
Is the DDR-120A-24 suitable for powering 24V HMI touchscreens in a process control panel?
The DDR-120A-24 outputs 24V at up to 4.2A, which is enough for most industrial HMI panels. Its ultra-slim 32 mm width conserves DIN rail space, and the 4KVdc isolation helps prevent ground loops between the low-voltage DC input bus and sensitive display electronics.
