ELG-240-48A-3Y is the 48V output model of this series: rated current 5.0A, typical efficiency 93%.

ELG-240 series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. ELG-240 operates from 100～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 24V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. ELG-240 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE".
3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
4. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.

Can the ELG-240-48A-3Y power 48V LED strips in a semi-outdoor retail canopy?

Yes. The ELG-240 series is rated IP65 or IP67 and the ELG-240-48A-3Y delivers 240W at 48V (180W on 100–180VAC input), making it appropriate for semi-outdoor installations like retail canopies that see wind-driven rain. It is specified for a case temperature (Tcase) of -40°C to +90°C, with a maximum ambient of 60°C at rated current in constant-current mode.

What does the '-3Y' suffix indicate on the ELG-240-48A-3Y?

The '-3Y' identifies the 3-wire input version: its input cable has AC/L (brown), AC/N (blue) and PE (green/yellow) wires so the case can be connected to protective earth. The electrical specifications—240W, 48V, 5A and potentiometer-adjustable output—are the same as the standard ELG-240-48A.

How much 48V LED strip can the ELG-240-48A-3Y drive?

The driver's rated output is 240W at 48V on 200–305VAC input (180W on 100–180VAC). For a strip with 20W per meter, it can supply 12 meters at full load (240 ÷ 20 = 12 m), or 9 meters on 100–180VAC mains. If you want 20% headroom, 192W covers about 9.6 meters at that density; check your strip's rated power per meter before sizing.

Is the ELG-240-48A-3Y appropriate for a damp utility room where condensation can form?

Only if condensation does not form on the driver. The IP65/IP67-rated housing protects against dust and water, but the working humidity is specified as 20–95% RH non-condensing. The -40°C to +90°C case temperature range also handles unheated mechanical rooms in cold climates.

Can the ELG-240-48A-3Y be used in a museum display case lighting application requiring precise light levels?

Yes. The 'A' variant's built-in potentiometer allows adjustment of output voltage (44.8–51.2V) and current (2.5–5A), enabling the installer to dial in the light level from 48V LED strips without external dimmers. The 240W capacity is sufficient for large display case arrays.
