HLG-240H-30A is the 30V output model of this series: rated current 8A, rated power 240W, typical efficiency 92.5%. Type A: Io and Vo adjustable through built-in potentiometer (IP65).

HLG-240H series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HLG-240H operates from 90～305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HLG-240H is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes14

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. 8. To fulfill requirements of the latest ErP regulation for lighting fixtures, this LED driver can only be used behind a switch without permanently connected to the mains.

Can I use the HLG-240H-30A for 30V LED strips in a covered outdoor canopy?

Yes. The HLG-240H-30A outputs 240W at 30V (8A) with an IP65 water-resistant rating, which protects against low-pressure water jets and dust. It is suitable for covered patios, canopies, soffits, and similar sheltered outdoor locations. For fully rain-exposed sites, consider the IP67-rated HLG-240H-30 instead.

Is the adjustable output on the HLG-240H-30A useful for fine-tuning 30V LED brightness?

Yes. The built-in potentiometer lets you trim the output voltage within 28-32V and the current within 4-8A. This is helpful for matching the driver precisely to your LED load, compensating for voltage drop over long cable runs, or slightly reducing brightness without an external dimmer.

Can the HLG-240H-30A power 30V LED modules in commercial signage under an awning?

How many meters of 30V LED strip can the HLG-240H-30A drive?

Divide 240W by your strip's wattage per meter. For instance, a strip consuming 12W/m would allow 20 meters (240W / 12W per meter = 20m). Always verify your strip's rated power per meter and ensure total consumption stays at or below 240W.

Is the HLG-240H-30A protected enough for a semi-exposed outdoor installation?

The IP65 water-resistant rating protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, which is sufficient for semi-exposed locations like under eaves, in open-sided enclosures, or behind ventilated sign cabinets. For heavily rain-exposed mounting or risk of temporary immersion, the IP67-rated HLG-240H-30 or -30B is a better choice.
