APV-16E-24 is the 24V output model of this series: rated current 0.67A, rated power 16.08W, typical efficiency 82%.

APV-16E series is one 16W AC/DC constant voltage mode single output LED power supply. It accepts input 180~264VAC and provides four models with different output voltage, 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, respectively, that the small wattage LED applications employ the most frequently. Exploiting Class II design (without FG pin) and adopting the 94V-0 flame retardant plastic enclosure, APV-16E ideally fits the entry-level LED applications.

Test conditions and notes9

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
4. Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Please check the static characteristics for more details.
5. The power supply is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply may lead to increase of the set up time.

What regions and mains voltages is the APV-16E-24 designed for?

The APV-16E-24 accepts 180–264VAC (or 254–370VDC), making it appropriate for European, UK, and Australian markets at 230–240V. It does not support 100–120V systems. Its datasheet lists BS EN/EN 62368-1 and EAC TP TC 004 safety approvals.

Can the APV-16E-24 power a 24V LED signage panel in a European installation?

Check the application first. The APV-16E-24 provides 24V at 0.67A (16.08W) from 230V mains, but its datasheet states it is not intended for LED lighting luminaire applications in the EU, where MEAN WELL recommends the LPF/NPF/XLG series. For other 24V loads, keep the total within 16.08W.

How long a 24V LED strip can the APV-16E-24 drive?

The APV-16E-24 delivers 16.08W at 24V. At a strip rated 8 W/m, that supports approximately 2 m. Divide 16.08W by your strip's rated power per meter to determine the maximum run length, and check your strip's rated power per meter before specifying.
