What 12V LED applications is the APV-35-12 suited to at 36W?

The APV-35-12 outputs 12V at 3A for a maximum of 36W. It suits longer 12V LED strip runs for retail display lighting, illuminated signage cabinets, 12V LED panel fixtures, and under-shelf task lighting installations where a single compact driver covers up to 36W of 12V load.

How long a 12V LED strip can the APV-35-12 power?

The APV-35-12 delivers 36W at 12V. At a strip rated 4.8 W/m, that supports approximately 7.5 m. Divide 36W by your strip's rated power per meter to find your specific limit, and check your strip's rated power per meter before specifying.

Is the APV-35-12 appropriate for outdoor or semi-outdoor LED signage?

The APV-35-12 carries IP42 ingress protection, which covers solid particles larger than 1 mm and light dripping water. It is not rated for outdoor rain or splash exposure. For semi-outdoor or outdoor LED signage installations, the driver must be housed in a fully sealed enclosure or a higher-IP rated driver must be specified.
