Over 15 years experience of providing support of MEAN WELL Power Supplies
Overview
DRC-60A is the CH1: 13.8V; CH2: 13.8V output model of this series: rated current CH1: 2.8A; CH2: 1.5A, rated power 59.34W, typical efficiency 86%.
DRC-60 is a 60W AC/DC DIN rail type security power supply series. In addition to the primary output, there is a charger output with a smaller rated current, enabling the backup power supply application the security access systems require. DRC-60 accepts the universal input between 90VAC and 264VAC, and supplies 13.8VDC and 27.6VDC at output, respectively. With the efficiency up to 88%, it can operate with air convection cooling under -30℃ through 70℃. In addition to the key protection features such as overload protection, over voltage protection, battery low cut off, and battery reverse polarity protection (by fuse), the alarm signal for AC OK and battery low signalling is provided, via relay contact output, to facilitate the system design.

Test conditions and notes8
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1μ& 47μF parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Length of set up time is measured at cold first start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 5. The power supply is considered a component which will be installed into a final equipment. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives.(as available on https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf )
- 6. Installation clearances : 40mm on top, 20mm on the bottom, 5mm on the left and right side are recommended when loaded permanently with full power. In case the adjacent device is a heat source, 15mm clearance is recommended.
- 7. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).
- 8.The battery voltage is lower than the CUTOFF voltage and cannot perform AC reset charging.

FAQ
Can I use the DRC-60A for a 13.8V automation controller or HMI load?
Yes, if the equipment needs 13.8V constant voltage and the load stays within 2.8A. The DRC-60A is rated for 59.34W total, shared between the 2.8A load output and the 1.5A battery charging output. That makes it suitable for mid-range panel power needs.
Is the DRC-60A a good match for 13.8V embedded or industrial electronics in a DIN rail cabinet?
It is a fit when the electronics require 13.8V DC constant voltage and draw no more than 2.8A. The input range is 90-264VAC, and the output capacity is 59.34W. Those ratings suit many enclosed industrial and embedded cabinet applications.
Can the DRC-60A support small battery-backed control systems?
It can be used in systems that need a DIN rail supply with UPS function and a 13.8V output. The available output is 2.8A, with a total power rating of 59.34W. That makes it appropriate for moderate 13.8V control loads rather than high-current equipment.
Will the DRC-60A handle cold or warm indoor operating conditions?
The specified operating temperature is -30°C to +70°C, so it is designed for a broad indoor temperature range. The provided specs do not list an IP rating. Because of that, the data does not confirm use in exposed outdoor or wet locations.
Where does the DRC-60A sit within the DRC family?
The DRC-60 series sheet lists two 59.34W models. The DRC-60A is the 13.8V version (CH1 2.8A, CH2 1.5A, adjustable 12-15V) for 12V batteries, with 86% typical efficiency. The DRC-60B is the 27.6V version (CH1 1.4A, CH2 0.75A, adjustable 24-30V) for 24V batteries, with 88% typical efficiency.
