Overview

HVG-65-42A is the 42V output model of this series: rated current 1.55A, rated power 65.1W, typical efficiency 89.5%. Type A: Io and Vo adjustable through built-in potentiometer (IP65).

HVG-65 series is a 65W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HVG-65 operates from 180~528 VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 90%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HVG-65 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes13

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 347VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

Can I use the HVG-65-42A for 42V LED strip or linear lighting in commercial displays?

Yes, if the lighting load is a 42V constant-current product operating within the 25.2-42V CC range. The driver can supply up to 1.55A with a 65.1W maximum load.

Is the HVG-65-42A suitable for covered outdoor signage lighting?

It can work for covered outdoor 42V constant-current signage because the HVG-65 series is IP65 or IP67 approved and rated for a case temperature (Tcase) of -40°C to +80°C. The connected load must still fit within 42V, 1.55A, and 65.1W.

Can this driver power 42V LED modules for wall-wash or facade lighting?

Yes, for 42V constant-current wall-wash or facade fixtures that fall within the 25.2-42V CC range. Size the load so it does not exceed 1.55A or 65.1W.

Will the HVG-65-42A work in buildings with higher AC input ranges?

Use the formula 65.1W divided by the strip's rated watts per meter to estimate the maximum length. That only works as a first pass, so also check your strip rated power per meter and confirm it is compatible with a 42V constant-current driver.

Can the HVG-65-42A be installed where it may see rain or washdown spray?

The HVG-65 series is IP65 or IP67 approved, and the sheet notes that a waterproof connector can be fitted to the output cable for damp or outdoor environments; check the rating marked on your unit before exposure to rain or spray. The case temperature (Tcase) range is -40°C to +80°C, but the full lighting assembly should be rated for the same conditions.
