Overview

HVG-65-36B is the 36V output model of this series: rated current 1.81A, rated power 65.2W, typical efficiency 89.5%. Type B: 3 in 1 dimming function (0~10Vdc, 10V PWM signal and resistance) (IP67).

HVG-65 series is a 65W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. HVG-65 operates from 180~528 VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 90%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +80℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HVG-65 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system.

Test conditions and notes12

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 347VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.

Can I use the HVG-65-36B for 36V LED strip lighting inside a sign cabinet?

Yes, if the lighting load is a 36V constant-current system that operates within the 21.6-36V CC range. Keep the total load at or below 1.81A and 65.2W, and confirm the strip or module is designed for direct constant-current drive.

Is the HVG-65-36B a good fit for outdoor architectural linear lighting?

It can be used for outdoor 36V constant-current linear fixtures: the HVG-65 series is IP65 or IP67 approved and rated for a case temperature (Tcase) of -40°C to +80°C. The fixture load still needs to stay within 36V output, 1.81A, and 65.2W.

Can this driver run 36V LED modules for channel letters or illuminated signage?

Yes, it is suitable for 36V constant-current signage loads that fall inside the 21.6-36V CC range. For sizing, stay within the 65.2W maximum and 1.81A output current.

How much 36V LED strip can the HVG-65-36B support?

Use the strip's rated power per meter and calculate maximum length as 65.2W divided by watts per meter. That gives the theoretical length limit, but you should also verify the strip is compatible with a 36V constant-current driver and not just matched by wattage.

Can the HVG-65-36B be used in wet or exposed outdoor locations?

The HVG-65 series is IP65 or IP67 approved, and the sheet notes that a waterproof connector can be fitted to the output cable for wet or outdoor locations. Its -40°C to +80°C case temperature (Tcase) range also supports exposed environments, but the connected lighting product needs its own matching environmental rating.
