Test conditions and notes5
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. The power supply is considered a component which will be installed into a final equipment. All the EMC tests are been executed by mounting the unit on a 360mm*360mm metal plate with 1mm of thickness. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives. For guidance on how to perform these EMC tests, please refer to “EMI testing of component power supplies.” (as available on http://www.meanwell.com)
- 5. When the input voltage is less than 40VAC, the SPS may exhibit degradation of performance. The final product manufacturers must re-confirm this deviation that does not affect basic safety or essential performance.

Can I use the MPS-30-48 for a 48V industrial communication or control device?
Yes, if the equipment requires constant-voltage 48V DC and draws no more than 0.6A. The total output capacity is 28.8W, so it is intended for lighter 48V electronics rather than higher-current 48V loads.
Is this suitable for a compact 48V embedded or automation module?
It can be used where a compact module needs 48V DC and stays within 0.6A output current. For 48V devices with higher steady-state demand, this model would not provide enough current headroom.
Can the MPS-30-48 power a small 48V control interface in an industrial enclosure?
It is a constant-voltage 48V supply rated for 28.8W, so it fits small 48V control interfaces that remain within that power envelope. Its 88-264VAC input range also supports use with a broad range of AC input sources.
Is the MPS-30-48 appropriate for damp or outdoor locations?
The published temperature range is -10°C to +60°C. Since no IP rating is included in the specs, the product data does not support classifying it as an outdoor-rated or water-resistant power supply.
