Test conditions and notes8
- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 12, 48VDC input, rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1μF & 47μF parallel capacitor.
- 3. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 4. Short circuit not more than 60 seconds.
- 5. The power supply is considered a component which will be installed into a final equipment. All the EMC tests are been executed by mounting the unit on a 230mm*230mm metal plate with 1mm of thickness. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives. For guidance on how to perform these EMC tests, please refer to “EMI testing of component power supplies.” (as available on https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf )
- 6. To insure proper operation, a 220uF/100V electrolytic capacitor with Esr <1Ω must be added to the input line.
- 7. EMC filter suggestion:
- 8. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).

FAQ
Can I use the NSD10-12D12 for bipolar analog signal conditioning in industrial control equipment?
Yes, this model is suited to control and instrumentation designs that need a constant-voltage ±12V output from a 9.8~36VDC input range. Its 10.08W rating fits lower-power analog sections rather than larger ±12V loads.
Is the NSD10-12D12 a good fit for embedded test and measurement circuits that need dual rails?
It can fit embedded and bench-level electronics that require ±12V rails and stay within the converter's 10.08W capacity. The wide 9.8~36VDC input range also makes it easier to use across variable low-voltage source conditions.
Can I use this DC-DC converter in an industrial interface module with ±12V requirements?
Yes, if the interface electronics specifically require constant-voltage ±12V output and the total load remains within 10.08W. This model is more appropriate for compact control, monitoring, and analog interface sections than for higher-power ±12V assemblies.
How does the NSD10-12D12 compare with the other NSD10 12-input series models?
Within the 9.8~36VDC input NSD10-D models, NSD10-12D5 is 10W, ±5V, 1A per output; NSD10-12D12 is 10.08W, ±12V, 0.42A; and NSD10-12D15 is 9.9W, ±15V, 0.33A. The 22~72VDC NSD10-48D5, NSD10-48D12 and NSD10-48D15 offer the same outputs from a 48VDC-class input. The main difference is the output voltage and power/current rating; this unit provides ±12V at 0.42A per output.
Is the NSD10-12D12 suitable for outdoor or harsh-temperature use?
The specified operating range is -25°C to +70°C, so the temperature range covers many industrial indoor environments. The product details provided here do not list an IP rating, so outdoor exposure suitability is not established by this spec set.
