ELG-150-12-3Y is the 12V output model of this series: rated current 10A, typical efficiency 88.5%.
ELG-150 series is a 150W AC/DC LED driver featuring the dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. ELG-150 operates from 100~305VAC and offers models with different rated voltage ranging between 12V and 54V. Thanks to the high efficiency up to 91%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -40℃ ~ +90℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. ELG-150 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for LED lighting system

- 1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
- 2. Please refer to "DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE". For DA-Type, Constant Current region is 60%~100% of maximum voltage under rated power delivery.
- 3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- 4. Tolerance : includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- 5. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTICS” sections for details.
- 6. Length of set up time is measured at first cold start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 7. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify EMC Directive on the complete installation again. Can the ELG-150-12-3Y be used for outdoor 12V LED strip lighting in a permanently mounted fixture?
Yes. The ELG-150-12-3Y is rated IP67 for waterproofing and has a -40°C to +90°C case temperature (Tcase) range, which covers typical outdoor conditions year-round. It provides the same 120W at 12V and 10A as the standard ELG-150-12 (84W at 100–180VAC input), with a 3-wire input that includes a PE earth conductor.
What is the difference between the ELG-150-12-3Y and the ELG-150-12 standard model?
Both are rated 120W at 12V and 10A output. The -3Y variant uses a 3-wire input cable (AC/L, AC/N and PE green/yellow) so the case can be connected to protective earth, while the standard model has a 2-wire input. Choose the -3Y if your installation requires an earthed input connection.
How many meters of 12V LED strip can the ELG-150-12-3Y power?
With 120W available at 12V, the driver can supply up to 10A at that voltage. For a 12V strip rated at 14.4 W/m, this covers approximately 8.3 m (120 W ÷ 14.4 W/m). For a higher-output 24 W/m strip, the run length would be about 5 m. Verify your strip's rated wattage per meter and apply a 10–20% derating margin.
Is the ELG-150-12-3Y appropriate for driving 12V LED modules in an outdoor illuminated sign cabinet?
Yes. The IP67 waterproof rating and 120W output make the ELG-150-12-3Y well suited for sign cabinet applications such as backlit channel letter arrays or LED module grids. Its wide input range (100–305VAC) supports international sign manufacturing.
Can this driver handle a 12V LED strip installation in a cold-storage warehouse?
Yes. The case temperature (Tcase) range begins at -40°C, which covers industrial freezer and cold-storage temperatures. The IP67 sealing protects against moisture, but the sheet specifies 20–95% RH non-condensing working humidity, so mount the driver where condensation does not form on it as it cycles between cold and ambient temperatures.
Is the ELG-150-12-3Y suitable for architectural facade lighting using 12V LED strips on a building exterior?
Yes. Its 120W output supports long or high-density 12V strip runs typical of facade wash lighting or perimeter cove lighting. IP67 weatherproofing allows direct outdoor mounting, and the >50,000-hour typical life at Tcase ≈80°C supports the project lifecycle expectations of architectural lighting installations.
