FAQ

What applications is the Boxco P-Series BC-CTP-303018 plastic enclosure best suited for?

This enclosure is suited for protecting industrial controls, monitoring components, and other sensitive equipment that need a sealed non-metallic housing. Its transparent cover makes it useful where visual inspection is helpful without opening the box. The molded hinge and latch design also fits applications that require repeated access.

Is this enclosure suitable for outdoor or washdown environments?

Yes, this model is rated IP67, which indicates strong protection against dust ingress and temporary immersion in water. The product description also notes an ultraviolet stabilizer for outdoor use and roof protection features that help reduce water and dust intrusion during cover operation. That makes it a practical option for demanding indoor and outdoor environments.

What material and impact protection does this model provide?

The BC-CTP-303018 is made from polycarbonate (PC) and carries an IK08 impact rating. The description also states it uses high impact resistant material to help resist external impact and reduce breakage during machining. This makes it a stronger choice than lighter-duty plastic enclosures for tougher service conditions.

What are the dimensions of the BC-CTP-303018 enclosure?

This enclosure measures 11.81 x 11.81 x 7.09 inches, which corresponds to 300 x 300 x 180 mm. Those dimensions make it a mid-size enclosure for applications needing more internal room than compact junction-style boxes. Buyers should confirm internal clearance requirements for their specific components.

Does this enclosure support mounting internal components?

Yes, the enclosure includes pre-molded mounting screw nuts for securing DIN rail or other equipment, and it also has internal mounting plate attachment points. The product description specifically notes brass inserted injection molding to support tightly fixed internal mounting plates. This helps when the enclosure needs to hold heavier internal equipment.

What temperature range can this enclosure handle?

The stated operating temperature range is -40 degrees C to 110 degrees C. That broad range makes it suitable for many industrial and outdoor conditions where temperature swings are a concern. Buyers with extreme environmental requirements should compare those limits against their specific site conditions.

What makes this model different from a standard opaque enclosure?

This version includes a transparent cover, allowing contents to be viewed without opening the enclosure. It also combines molded plastic hinges with a latch-type closure and stainless steel latch components for durability. That combination is useful when both visibility and repeated access matter.
